Pecan Slice

Ingredients
- 1 cup flour
- 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/3 cup butter, softened
- 1/4 cup butter
- 1/3 cup golden syrup
- 1 egg, beaten
- 1/4 cup brown sugar
- 1/2 teaspoon vanilla
- 2 tablespoons flour
- 1 1/2 cups pecan halves
Recipe
- 1 preheat oven to 350*.
- 2 grease an 8 inch square pan.
- 3 base.
- 4 sift together flour, baking powder and salt.
- 5 cream butter and blend in flour to make a soft dough.
- 6 spread dough evenly over the base of greased pan.
- 7 bake for 15 minutes.
- 8 topping.
- 9 in a small saucepan over low heat, melt butter.
- 10 remove from heat and stir in syrup, brown sugar, beaten egg, vanilla and flour.
- 11 spread pecans evenly over base.
- 12 pour topping over pecans.
- 13 bake an additional 20-25 minutes until topping is set and lightly browned.
- 14 cool in pan.
- 15 when cool, cut into squares.
