Grandma's Norwegian Kringla

Ingredients
- Servings: 12
- 1 cup sugar or 1 cup splenda sugar substitute
- butter (the size of an egg)
- 2 egg yolks, beaten
- 1 teaspoon vanilla
- 1/2 cup buttermilk
- 1/2 cup sour cream (add a cap of vinegar to you milk and let it sit 1/2 hour in frig)
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 3 cups flour
- 2 1/2 teaspoons baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1 dash nutmeg
Recipe
- 1 cream butter and sugar. add egg yolks and vanilla. put the soda in the sour milk and sour cream. add to the egg mixture. add the sifted dry ingredients.
- 2 chill well. roll in long rolls and form into bows or pretzel shapes.
- 3 bake in a hot oven, 450 degrees, until light brown or paler if you like.
