Jam Drops

Total Time: 35 mins Preparation Time: 20 mins Cook Time: 15 mins

Ingredients

  • 125 g butter
  • 3/4 cup caster sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 1/2 teaspoon bicarbonate of soda (baking soda)
  • 1 teaspoon cream of tartar
  • 2 cups plain flour (all-purpose flour)
  • jam (jelly)

Recipe

  • 1 cream butter and sugar.
  • 2 add eggs and beat well.
  • 3 add sifted dry ingredients and mix well. (the dough will be quite sticky).
  • 4 place teaspoonfuls approx 4cm apart onto a baking sheet either greased or lined with baking paper.
  • 5 make an indentation in the top of each biscuit (i use 2 teaspoons to "dig" a little hole) and fill with your choice of jam.
  • 6 bake at 180deg c for 15 mins or until lightly golden.
  • 7 cool on wire rack and enjoy!
