Kossman Cowboy Cookies

Ingredients

• Servings: 46
• 4 cups flour
• 2 teaspoons baking soda
• 2 teaspoons baking powder
• 1 teaspoon salt
• 2 cups lard or 2 cups shortening
• 2 cups sugar
• 2 cups brown sugar
• 4 eggs
• 4 cups oatmeal
• 1/2 cup molasses
• 7 cups chocolate chips

Recipe

• 1 cream shortening and sugars.
• 2 add molasses.
• 3 sift dry ingredients.
• 4 beat eggs til fluffy and add to creamed mixture.
• 5 add half of flour mixture.
• 6 add 3 packages chocolate chips (i.e. 7 cups).
• 7 add rest of flour and oatmeal.
• 8 (don says really hard to mix at this point).
• 9 and it is you need a very large bowl
• 10 bake 8 to 10 minutes at 400°f.( i went about 11 to 12 minutes they come out a little brown because of molasses ).
• 11 (don has old oven--check sooner).
• 12 not sure how many this makes. my best guess--a lot. i did about 60 cookies a a teaspoon and still had alot of batter left.
