Jam And Oat Bars

Total Time: 1 hr 5 mins Preparation Time: 35 mins Cook Time: 30 mins

Ingredients

  • 250 g melted butter
  • 2 cups brown sugar
  • 2 eggs, beaten
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla essence
  • 2 1/2 cups self raising flour
  • 3 cups rolled oats
  • 1 cup jam, use more if needed

Recipe

  • 1 heat oven 180°c.
  • 2 grease 2 pans 19cm x 29cm.
  • 3 line trays with baking paper.
  • 4 combine butter,sugar, eggs and essence in large bowl.
  • 5 add sifted flour and oats and mix well.
  • 6 divide mixture into 3 equal portions.
  • 7 press 1 portion over base of one tray.
  • 8 repeat with 2nd portion over base of 2nd tray.
  • 9 heat jam and spread over the 2 bases.
  • 10 crumble remaining mix over jam in both trays.
  • 11 bake 30 minutes or till browned, cool in pans.
