Golden Pecan Bars

Ingredients

  • 3 cups baking mix (bisquick)
  • 1/2 cup packed brown sugar
  • 1/4 cup butter, melted
  • 1/4 cup milk
  • 1 egg
  • 1/2 cup packed brown sugar
  • 1/4 cup butter, melted
  • 1/4 cup frozen orange juice concentrate, thawed
  • 2 tablespoons honey
  • 1 cup chopped pecans

Recipe

  • 1 preheat oven to 350°f
  • 2 spray a 9x13in baking pan with cooking spray, set aside.
  • 3 in a large bow, combine the baking mix and brown sugar, mix well.
  • 4 in a small bowl, combine milk and egg, mix well.
  • 5 pour the milk mixture into the dry ingredients and stir until smooth.
  • 6 pat dough evenly into bottom of prepared pan.
  • 7 bake until dough is firm, about 12 minutes.
  • 8 while dough is baking, prepare the topping.
  • 9 in a small saucepan, combine sugar, butter, orange juice and honey.
  • 10 bring to a boil, boil for 3 minutes without stirring.
  • 11 remove saucepan from heat.
  • 12 pour syrup evenly over baked dough.
  • 13 sprinkle with pecans.
  • 14 bake until toothpick inserted in center comes out clean, about 20 minutes.
  • 15 cool completely.
