Real Scottish Shortbread

Total Time: 1 hr Preparation Time: 45 mins Cook Time: 15 mins

Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup cornstarch
  • 1/2 cup icing sugar
  • 1 cup flour
  • 3/4 cup butter, softened

Recipe

  • 1 sift cornstarch, sugar and flour together.
  • 2 blend in butter until combined and then use hands to knead into a soft dough.
  • 3 shape dough into a ball, cover with plastic wrap and refrigerate for 30 minutes.
  • 4 place dough in the bottom of a greased 9x9-inch pan and bake at 300°f for 15-20 minutes or until lightly browned.
  • 5 cool completely in pan and cut into squares.
  • 6 store in an airtight container.
