Holiday Cookie Surprises

Ingredients

• 1 cup butter, softened
• 3/4 cup powdered sugar
• 1 egg
• 1 teaspoon vanilla
• 2 cups flour
• 1 1/4 cups quaker oats (quick or old-fashioned, uncooked)
• 1/4 teaspoon salt
• 48 chocolate hershey chocolate kisses
• colored crystal sugar or candy sprinkles

Recipe

• 1 heat oven to 375 degrees.
• 2 beat butter and sugar until creamy. add egg and vanilla; beat well. add flour, oats and salt; mix well.
• 3 shape dough into 1 inch balls. press candy into center of each ball; shape dough around candy so it is completely hidden. roll cookies in sugar until evenly coated.
• 4 place 1 1/2 inches apart on ungreased cookie sheets. bake 14 to 17 minutes or until set. cool on wire rack.
