Light Chocolate Almond Cookies

Ingredients

  • 1 1/4 cups shortening
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 2/3 cup packed brown sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 3 tablespoons milk
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla
  • 2 1/4 cups flour
  • 1/2 cup hershey's low-fat cocoa
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup chipits milk chocolate chips
  • 1 cup slivered almonds

Recipe

  • 1 preheat oven to 350°f.
  • 2 cream shortening, sugars, eggs, milk and vanilla in a large bowl at medium speed of electric mixer until creamy, about 1 minute.
  • 3 combine flour, cocoa, baking soda and salt. add to creamed mixture. beat at low speed until blended.
  • 4 stir in chips and nuts.
  • 5 drop by teaspoonful onto ungreased baking sheet.
  • 6 bake at 350f for 10-12 minutes. cool slightly. remove to cooling rack.
