Our Favorite Brownies

Total Time: 55 mins Preparation Time: 15 mins Cook Time: 40 mins

Ingredients

  • 140 g unsalted butter
  • 200 g unsweetened semisweet baking chocolate
  • 200 g powdered sugar
  • 1 pinch salt
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 large egg yolk
  • 85 g all-purpose flour

Recipe

  • 1 preheat oven to 350°f.
  • 2 butter and flour an 18 cm cake tin.
  • 3 melt the chocolate with the butter in a glass bowl over a pan of simmering water.
  • 4 mix well, and allow to cool slightly.
  • 5 blend flour, sugar and salt well.
  • 6 add the cooled chocolate mixture to the flour, fully incorporating.
  • 7 whisk in the eggs and the yolk one at a time.
  • 8 beat for about a minute until thickened and smooth.
  • 9 bake for 40-45 minutes or until a toothpick inserted is moist with crumbs.
