Gingerbread Bears

Ingredients
- 125 g unsalted butter
- 100 g molasses
- 4 tablespoons golden syrup
- 325 g plain flour
- 1 teaspoon bicarbonate of soda
- 3 teaspoons ground ginger
- 1 teaspoon cinnamon
- 1 teaspoon allspice
- 1 teaspoon vanilla essence
- supercook writing icing (optional)
Recipe
- 1 preheat the oven to 170 celsius.
- 2 1. melt the sugar, butter and golden syrup in a saucepan.
- 3 2. sieve all the dry ingredients together, then add your vanilla essence.
- 4 3. slowly add the melted sugar, butter and syrup, then stir with a wooden spoon.
- 5 4. knead the mix for 3-4 minutes.
- 6 5. roll out the dough to about 5-7mm thickness, then use your choice of cutter to cut 'em out.
- 7 6. place them in the oven on baking trays lined with greaseproof paper for 10-12 minutes until golden brown.
- 8 7. remove from the oven and allow to cool.
- 9 8. ice to your taste! :).
