Mary's Frosted Creams

Ingredients
- 1/2 cup shortening
- 1/2 cup sugar
- 2 egg yolks
- 1 cup molasses
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1 teaspoon ginger
- 1 teaspoon cinnamon
- 1/2 cup boiling water
- flour, enough to make stiff batter
- 1/2 cup sugar
- 2 tablespoons water
- 1/4 cup karo
- 1 teaspoon vanilla
Recipe
- 1 seperate the egg whites from yolks you will need both in this recipe.
- 2 cream shortening and sugar together. add egg yolks, mix well.
- 3 add enough flour to make a stiff batter. then add remaining ingredients and mix well.
- 4 pour in a greased jelly roll pan(deep cookie pan) and bake at 350 degrees for 30 minute.
- 5 to make frosting: beat the egg whites till fluffy, set aside. stir water and karo syrup in sauce pan and cook until it reaches soft ball stage, approx 7 minute pour over the egg whites beating all the time. until it is light and fluff then beat in the vanilla.
