Nonna's Biscotti

Ingredients
- 3 cups sifted flour
- 3 teaspoons baking powder
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 cup butter
- 2 whole eggs
- 4 egg yolks
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 1 teaspoon anise extract
- 1 cup thin sliced almonds
Recipe
- 1 preheat oven to 350 degrees.
- 2 sift together flour, baking powder and salt.
- 3 cream butter, sugar and flavoring. beat in eggs and egg yolks, one at a time. add the flour mixture and almonds.
- 4 turn out on a floured board and knead gently until smooth.
- 5 divide dough in half. shape each half into a roll, 1 1/2 inch in diameter.
- 6 place on a lightly greased cookie sheet and bake for 30 - 35 minutes.
- 7 remove from oven and let cool slightly.
- 8 cut diagonally into slices 2/3 inch wide.
- 9 place back onto cookie sheet and toast in the oven for about 10 minutes for crisp cookies.
