Razz-ma-tazz Bars

Ingredients

- 1/2 cup butter
- 2 cups chocolate chips, divided
- 2 large eggs
- 1/3 cup sugar
- 1 cup flour
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon almond extract
- 1/2 cup seedless raspberry jam
- 1/4 cup toasted sliced almonds
Recipe
- 1 preheat oven to 350*.
- 2 grease and sugar a 9x9-inch pan.
- 3 melt butter in medium, microwaveable bowl on high power for 1 minute; stir.
- 4 add 1 cup morsels; do not stir.
- 5 beat eggs in large mixer bowl until foamy.
- 6 add sugar; beat until light lemon colored, about 5 minutes.
- 7 stir in morsel-butter mixture.
- 8 add flour, salt and almond extract.
- 9 mix at low speed until combined.
- 10 spread 2/3 of batter into prepared pan.
- 11 bake 15 to 17 minutes, or until light golden brown around edges.
- 12 remove from oven to wire rack.
- 13 spread jam over warm crust.
- 14 stir remaining morsels into remaining batter.
- 15 drop tablespoons of batter over jam.
- 16 sprinkle with almonds.
- 17 bake 25 to 30 minutes, or until edges are browned.
- 18 cool completely in pan on wire rack.
- 19 cut into bars.
