Nutty Eggnog Bars

Ingredients
- 2 cups sugar
- 2/3 cup butter
- 2 eggs
- 1 teaspoon vanilla
- 2 cups flour
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon ground nutmeg
- 1 cup chopped macadamia nuts
- 1 cup powdered sugar
- 1/4 teaspoon vanilla
- 1 -2 tablespoon eggnog
Recipe
- 1 line a 13x9 pan with foil, then grease the foil.
- 2 in a medium saucepan, over medium heat, cook sugar and butter, stirring, until butter is melted. remove from heat and cool slightly.
- 3 stir eggs and vanilla into sugar mixture.
- 4 add flour, baking powder, and nutmeg; stir to combine. stir in nuts.
- 5 spread the dough in the prepared pan. bake at 350°f for 25-30 minutes or until edges begin to pull away from the pan.
- 6 cool in the pan on a wire rack. cut into bars or diamond shapes when cool.
- 7 in a small bowl combine powdered sugar, vanilla and 1 tablespoon of eggnog. add additional eggnog, 1 teaspoon at a time, if necessary to make the glaze a piping consistency. pipe icing over bars.
