Maple Crescents

Total Time: 1 hr 27 mins Preparation Time: 1 hr 15 mins Cook Time: 12 mins

Ingredients

  • 1 cup powdered sugar, divided
  • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 teaspoon maple extract
  • 1 3/4 cups flour
  • 1 cup pecans, finely chopped
  • 2 -3 teaspoons milk

Recipe

  • 1 in large mixing bowl, combine 1/2 cup sugar, butter and maple extract.
  • 2 beat at medium speed of electric mixer until light and fluffy.
  • 3 add flour.
  • 4 beat at low speed until soft dough forms.
  • 5 stir in pecans.
  • 6 cover with plastic wrap.
  • 7 chill 1 to 2 hours, or until firm.
  • 8 heat oven to 350°f.
  • 9 shape heaping teaspoons dough into crescent shapes.
  • 10 place crescents 2 inches apart on ungreased cookie sheets.
  • 11 bake for 12 to 15 minutes, or until set.
  • 12 cool completely.
  • 13 in small mixing bowl, combine remaining 1/2 cup sugar and the milk.
  • 14 stir until smooth.
  • 15 pipe or drizzle glaze over crescents.
  • 16 let dry completely before storing.
