Irony's Chocolate Cookies

Ingredients

• 1 1/4 cups shortening
• 2 cups sugar
• 2 eggs
• 2 teaspoons vanilla
• 2 cups unsifted all-purpose flour
• 3/4 cup natural cocoa powder
• 1 teaspoon baking soda
• 1/2 teaspoon table salt

Recipe

• 1 put shortening in a large bowl. put in microwave on high 30 seconds.
• 2 cream sugar into shortening. add eggs and vanilla and mix well.
• 3 in another bowl, combine flour, cocoa, baking soda and salt. blend into wet mixture; batter will be stiff.
• 4 drop by teaspoonfuls onto ungreased cookie sheet and bake at 350°f for 8-9 minutes. cool on cookie sheet until set, about 5 minutes, then transfer to a rack to cool completely.
