Maple Peanut Butter Cookies

Ingredients
- 1/2 cup brown sugar, firmly packed
- 1/2 cup butter or 1/2 cup margarine or 1/2 cup shortening, softened
- 1/2 cup peanut butter (crunchy or creamy, your pick)
- 1/2 cup maple syrup
- 1 large egg yolk
- 1 1/2 cups flour
- 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon baking powder

Recipe
- 1 preheat oven to 350°f.
- 2 in a large bowl, beat brown sugar, butter and peanut butter until light and fluffy.
- 3 add syrup and the egg yolk and beat well.
- 4 mix in flour, baking soda, salt and baking powder.
- 5 if necessary, refrigerate for 15-30 minutes for easier handling.
- 6 shape dough into 1" balls and place 2 inches apart on ungreased cookie sheets.
- 7 with a fork dipped in sugar, flatten balls with a criss-cross pattern.
- 8 bake at 350° for 8-12 minutes until golden brown.
