Mrs. Clinton's Chocolate Chip Cookies

Ingredients
- 1 1/2 cups flour
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1 cup vegetable shortening
- 1 cup firmly packed light-brown sugar
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 1 teaspoon vanilla
- 2 eggs
- 2 cups old fashioned oats
- 1 (12 ounce) package semi-sweet chocolate chips
Recipe
- 1 heat oven to 350°f.
- 2 grease baking sheets.
- 3 combine flour, salt and baking soda.
- 4 beat together shortening, sugars and vanilla in large bowl with electric mixer until creamy.
- 5 add eggs, beating until light and fluffy.
- 6 on low speed, gradually beat in flour mixture and rolled oats.
- 7 stir in chococlate chips.
- 8 drop batter by well-rounded measuring teaspoonfuls onto greased baking sheet.
- 9 bake at 350°f oven for 8-10 minutes or until golden.
