Gingersnap Cookies

Total Time: 28 mins Preparation Time: 20 mins Cook Time: 8 mins

Ingredients

  • 2 1/4 cups flour
  • 1 cup packed brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup shortening or 1/2 cup cooking oil
  • 1/4 cup molasses
  • 1 egg
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 teaspoon ground ginger
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cloves
  • 1/4 cup sugar

Recipe

  • 1 preheat oven to 375.
  • 2 in a large bowl place about half of the flour.
  • 3 add the brown sugar, shortening or oil, molasses, egg, baking soda, ginger, cinnamon, and cloves.
  • 4 beat with an electric mixer on medium to high speed till thoroughly combined. then beat or stir in the remaining flour.
  • 5 shape the dough into 1-inch balls. roll the balls in sugar to coat.
  • 6 place 2 inches apart on an un-greased cookie sheet.
  • 7 bake for 8-10 minutes or till edges are set and tops are crackled. cool for one minute on cookie sheet. cool on a wire rack.
