Gingersnaps

Ingredients

  • 1 cup molasses
  • 1 teaspoon ginger
  • 1 cup butter or 1 cup lard, melted
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 egg, lightly beaten
  • 1/4 cup warm water
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt

Recipe

  • 1 put molasses and ginger in a bowl, add melted butter and sugar, then egg and warm water; sift flour and baking soda and salt; work it into the other ingredients.
  • 2 roll out to 1/4 inch thick, and cut in rounds.
  • 3 place on parchment lined baking sheets.
  • 4 bake at 350f for 15 minutes.
