Mom's Sugar Cookies

Ingredients

• 3/4 cup shortening (partal butter if wanted)
• 1 cup sugar
• 2 eggs
• 1/2 teaspoon vanilla (or lemon flavor)
• 2 1/2 cups flour
• 1 teaspoon baking powder
• 1 teaspoon salt

Recipe

• 1 cream together shortening, sugar, eggs, and vanilla.
• 2 sift together and stir in flour, baking powder, and salt.
• 3 chill for 1 hour.
• 4 roll dough out and cut with cookie cutter.
• 5 bake at 400 degrees from 6-8 minutes.
• 6 make sure you bake in the very middle of the oven or the bottoms will be too brown.
