Granny's Sugar Cookies

Ingredients

• 1/2 cup butter
• 1 cup sugar
• 1 egg
• 1/2 teaspoon salt
• 2 teaspoons baking powder
• 2 cups flour, sifted
• 1/2 teaspoon vanilla

Recipe

• 1 cream together butter and sugar.
• 2 blend in egg.
• 3 sift together salt, baking powder, and flour.
• 4 add to mixture.
• 5 blend vanilla into mixture.
• 6 chill dough.
• 7 roll dough to thickness desired, and cut out shapes with a cookie cutter.
• 8 bake on lightly greased cookie sheet in 400°f preheated oven for 8-10 minutes.
