Gingersnaps

Total Time: 40 mins Preparation Time: 20 mins Cook Time: 20 mins

Ingredients

  • 1 1/4 cups shortening
  • 1/4 cup water
  • 2 cups sugar
  • 1 cup molasses
  • 1 tablespoon vinegar
  • 2 eggs
  • 4 teaspoons baking soda
  • 2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 5 -5 1/2 cups flour
  • 1 teaspoon clove
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1 teaspoon nutmeg
  • 1 teaspoon allspice
  • 1 teaspoon ginger

Recipe

  • 1 mix first six ingredients.
  • 2 add dry ingredients.
  • 3 let chill for 1 hour.
  • 4 take 1 tbsp dough (i like to make them big!) , roll into a ball and roll in granulated sugar.
  • 5 bake at 350 degrees for 10-12 minutes. remember all stove temps are different.
