Red Velvet Brownie Cupcakes

Total Time: 55 mins Preparation Time: 20 mins Cook Time: 35 mins

Ingredients

  • 1 cup butter
  • 8 ounces bittersweet chocolate
  • 4 eggs
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 5 drops orange extract
  • 5 teaspoons red food coloring
  • 1 cup flour

Recipe

  • 1 preheat oven to 350 and line cupcake tins.
  • 2 melt butter and chocolate over a double boiler set over barely simmering water. cool slightly.
  • 3 in a large bowl, beat eggs and whisk is sugars, salt and extracts. slowly add in the chocolate mixture and food coloring. fold in the flour until just combined.
  • 4 bake for 35-40 minutes or until shiny and beginning to crack on top. cool in pan on rack and frost with whipped cream cheese frosting after cupcakes are cool.
