Ginger Cookies

Ingredients
- 2 cups flour
- 1 tablespoon ground ginger
- 1/2 teaspoon ground nutmeg
- 1/4 teaspoon ground cloves
- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 2 teaspoons baking soda
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 3/4 cup butter, softened
- 1 cup sugar, plus extra for dipping
- 1 egg
- 1/4 cup molasses
Recipe
- 1 preheat oven to 325 degrees.
- 2 combine flour, spices, baking soda, salt and sift (if desired.) set aside.
- 3 cream butter and add sugar gradually. beat until light and fluffy.
- 4 beat in egg and molasses.
- 5 add flour mixture (1/3 amount at a time) and mix well.
- 6 roll into walnut-size balls. roll in sugar and place on baking sheet, 2 inches apart.
- 7 bake for 9-12 minutes or until tops are slightly rounded and crackly.
