Ingredients
- 2 cups sugar
- 3 1/2 cups flour
- 1 1/2 cups shortening
- 1 egg (softer cookies? use 2)
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 cup molasses
- 1 1/2 teaspoons baking soda
- 2 teaspoons ground cloves
- 2 teaspoons ground cinnamon
- 2 teaspoons ground ginger
Recipe
- 1 preheat oven to 350 degrees.
- 2 measure 2 cups sugar and the rest of the ingredients. mix at medium speed until well blended. roll into 1" balls.
- 3 place on ungreased cookie sheet and flatten with a cookie press or a glass coated with sugar. (recoat in sugar before each press.).
- 4 bake 10-12 minutes.
