Gingersnaps

Total Time: 10 mins Cook Time: 10 mins

Ingredients

  • 2 cups sugar
  • 3 1/2 cups flour
  • 1 1/2 cups shortening
  • 1 egg (softer cookies? use 2)
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup molasses
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons baking soda
  • 2 teaspoons ground cloves
  • 2 teaspoons ground cinnamon
  • 2 teaspoons ground ginger

Recipe

  • 1 preheat oven to 350 degrees.
  • 2 measure 2 cups sugar and the rest of the ingredients. mix at medium speed until well blended. roll into 1" balls.
  • 3 place on ungreased cookie sheet and flatten with a cookie press or a glass coated with sugar. (recoat in sugar before each press.).
  • 4 bake 10-12 minutes.
