No Bake Chocolate Cookies

Ingredients
- 1/2 cup cocoa
- 4 cups sugar
- 1 cup milk
- 1 cup margarine
- 1 cup peanut butter
- 2 1/2 teaspoons vanilla
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 6 cups quick-cooking oatmeal
Recipe
- 1 bring first 7 ingredients to a rolling boil.
- 2 cook for 3 minutes.
- 3 remove from heat.
- 4 add quick cooking oatmeal.
- 5 mix well and drop by teaspoon onto wax paper or parchment paper.
- 6 let cool.
- 7 note: after i have let them cool, i put them in an air tight container.
- 8 regarding chef #219653’s review all i can say is no kidding back then she used butter; then when it was said butter wasn’t good for a person she changed it to margarine. she used to have to moisten the oats first (patting out the excess water) and then add them to the boiled ingredients. i believe it took about 40 – 45 minutes to do the recipe back then ( i can’t remember for sure) and i cannot ask her as she died in september 1979.
