Healthy Chocolate Brownies

Total Time: 32 mins Preparation Time: 10 mins Cook Time: 22 mins

Ingredients

  • 1/3 cup cocoa powder, unsweetened
  • 1/2 cup flour
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup brown sugar, packed
  • 1/2 cup prune baby food
  • 3 tablespoons butter, melted
  • 2 egg whites
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons vanilla

Recipe

  • 1 preheat oven to 325 degrees. combine cocoa, flour and salt in a small bowl. set aside.
  • 2 using a wooden spoon or electric mixer on low speed, blend together brown sugar, prunes, butter, egg whites and vanilla. gradually add flour mixture and blend after each addition.
  • 3 spray an 8x8 inch baking pan with non stick spray and pour batter into pan then spread evenly. bake for 20-22 minutes until edges are dry to the touch but middle appears fudge like. do not over bake or product will be dry.
  • 4 remove from oven and let cool in pan before slicing.
  • 5 for maximum moistness, store squares in an airtight container.
